When Saturday comes

There's always great excitement in our house on a Saturday. It's Footie day! Today has been no exception. The visit of Newcastle Utd could have been the most depressing day of the year so far. The game started so well and we all thought Leicester City were on the verge of something big. Then the ref decides to cut us down to ten men. Here we go again. Another one lost. But Newcastle hadn't bargained on the determination of the LCFC players. Nor had we, if I'm honest. Up against great adversity the lads stuck together and didn't give up. It was a wonderful spectacle. Probably the best display of togetherness we have witnessed this season.

No matter what the likes of Wayne Routledge and Andy Carroll threw at the lads, no matter how many times the ref waved away Leicester's complaints, claims for free kicks and a penalty, no matter how many times the Newcastle players chopped down the Leicester players without so much as a word of warning from the officials, and no matter how many times our players were booked for transgressions ignored by the ref when committed by Newcastle players, the magnificent 11 of Leicester City carried on to the bitter end.

For us fans it was a just result. A Newcastle win would have been so unfair in the face of such determination and bravery, team spirit and togetherness.

I am proud to call myself a Foxes Fan. Today the team showed us all and the world just what that meant.

Swansea

Well at last the rains have come and it looks like the snow is finally on its way out. Hurrah! Today the Foxes Faithful travel to Swansea for the next league game and there is every chance that the match will NOT be called off. For us this would have been a new stadium to visit, so Brad and I were quite looking forward to it. Unfortunately Brad was taken ill in the night, "issuing from both ends", so to speak and is spending the morning dozing on the settee and watching WWE.

It would have been a nice respite for us both too, as we have both been under a lot of pressure lately - Brad with his GCSEs and me with work/life/the universe/everything. However we will have to look forward to the next game instead. Maybe it's just as well we aren't going. I am still suffering the effects of a bad cold and the weather is wet, windy and horrible - not the best mix if you are under the weather (no pun intended).

Oh this cold winter...go away!

I am so frustrated with this awful wintry weather. Far be it from me to complain, I have to say that nothing frustrates me more than not being able to get to follow my beloved Leicester City. Twice this season I have set off for an away match only to find out en route that it had been cancelled. And shame on you Cardiff City for letting us loyal Leicester fans get half way to your "state of the art" stadium before admitting your under-soil heating wasn't working.

I hope this Sunday turns out well. I know our grounds staff do everything they can to get the game on. It's the areas around the stadium which worry me.
