What does the average footie fan do during the "off-season"? Normally, not a great deal. And with the World Cup? Well, given England's abysmal form - not a great deal there either. All I can say is roll on August 7th. Not only is that date a cause of family celebration (yes, l'il bro, I remember), but also it represents the start of the football season for everyone except those who breathe the rareified air of the Premier League.
So apart from the decorating and general catching up with all the things I don't get done during the season things have been fairly quiet. At the club however things have not been that peaceful and I really don't understand what has been going on at Leicester City. Can't we keep a manager for more than a couple of seasons? Why did we let Hull talk to him in the first place? I just hope that whoever Mr Mandaric gets to replace him has a longer term view. I really rated Nigel Pearson. His understated style really appealed to me - he got results. But now I can't help disliking him. Loyalty these days seems to count for nothing.
